Hungary's Finance Minister went missing for a USD200billion project? The truth is not a shortsightedness like that. Hungary’s Finance Minister János Veres is in China conducting negotiations about a two-piece project worth USD 200 billion. This is why the minister was not present at Wednesday’s press conference addressing the EUR 20 bn credit line provided by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the European Union and the World Bank.

Echoing China’s gratitude for the assistance of Hungary regarding the May 12 earthquake in the southwestern Sichuan Province. On Sino-Hungarian ties, China viewed Hungary as an important partner and would push forward the bilateral relations. Hungary hope that they would promote cooperation with China on science, medicine, trade and finance and serve as a link in the relations between China and the European Union.

Prime minister of Hungary visited China last year with a large delegation was indeed a very good move.

China has indicated a number of times already that it would like Hungary to play a central role in its European expansion.
