Bekescsaba is one of the largest city in the Southern Great Plains of Hungary, with nearly 70,000 people living there. Easily accessible via train, and close to Szeged, worth a day visit on your way. The city is quite old, since the area was populated since the iron age, although Bekecsaba remains a rural town on the plains with wide streets, nice houses and a really attractive downtown area.
The right bank of the ElúvÍz Canal - lined with sculptures of famous men born in the town - leads to the Árpád fürdo baths, with alkaline water containing hydrogen carbonate which reaches temperatures of 74°C (165°F). There are swimming pool and open bath in Bekescsaba fully modernized in the recent years. Thermal bath, jakuzzi, 50 meters swimming pool, slides, children pool near the river koros bank.
Hence, during a downtown walk, you can discover the beautiful architectural memories of the 19th century.
